The Client

PMV Training is one of Australia’s largest post trade training providers, specialising in electrical, hazardous area and industrial training. Most of its students are FIFO mine workers in remote locations, where logistical limitations make it difficult to complete assessments in person.

To support its CSPA training program—a standardised test for literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving—PMV needed a secure, seamless online integration compatible with OARS (Online Assessment and Reporting System), developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER).

The Challenge

PMV required a custom solution allowing students to access both its LMS and OARS through Single Sign-On (SSO), while ensuring a secure, user-friendly exam environment. The system needed to support remote locations and comply with Australian data security laws and ASQA guidelines. Off-the-shelf proctoring platforms didn’t meet these unique requirements.

In collaboration with ACER, invigilatorPlus developed a custom Moodle integration that used SSO to connect PMV’s LMS with OARS. Students accessed the CSPA assessment through Moodle without leaving the platform, enhancing both usability and security. LTI and API-driven authentication ensured secure transitions between systems and streamlined user access.
